Tap Dan's Festival

Daniel Borak präsentiert sein eigenes Theater-Festival: 7 Abende, 7 verschiedene Shows - und er tanzt in jeder mit.

Es handelt sich dabei um eine Art „Best Of“ seiner vergangenen sechs Jahre als freischaffender Stepp/Tänzer, wobei aber auch brandneues Material aufgeführt wird.

Nebst seinen Arbeitskollegen aus Winterthur, werden ebenfalls Gäste aus der ganzen Schweiz, den USA, England und Deutschland an diesem Festival beteiligt sein. Mit ihnen wird Daniel  bereits bestehende Kollaborationen aufführen und auch Stücke, die speziell für dieses Festival erarbeitet wurden.

An den Nachmittagen von Mittwoch bis Sonntag werden zusätzlich noch Tap-Workshops mit internationalen Lehrern organisiert, die im Dance Studio Borak durchgeführt werden. 

Dieses Festival wird ein Erlebnis, dass die Besucher in Daniel’s Welt eintauchen lässt - in die "Tap Dan's Art Borak". 

Wieso?

Als 5-Jähriger entdeckte Daniel in der Tanzschule seine Mutter Liba Borak seine Begeisterung für Stepptanz. 

Mit 11 Jahren kam die erste Goldmedaille an der Weltmeisterschaft, mit 14 das Choreographieren, kurz darauf das Unterrichten und mit 18 dann der Entschluss, das Gymnasium abzubrechen, um eine Tanzausbildung anzutreten. 

Seit dem erfolgreichen Abschluss an der Zürcher Tanz Theater Schule 2010 ist Daniel als professioneller Stepp/Tänzer, Pädagoge und Choreograph tätig und hatte seit dem die Gelegenheit, an zahlreichen Shows, Festivals und Projekten weltweit mitwirken zu dürfen:

Rhythm World 2014/2015, Tap United 12/13/14/15, Projekte mit STYLIZE, Flashdance, WINGS by Rigolo, Das ZELT-Varieté, Funny Feet, Rhythm Refix, 9 Point Inc. , eigene Produktionen mit dem Dance Studio  Borak und vieles mehr.

Somit ist in den vergangenen sechs Jahren sehr viel Material entstanden, sowie zahlreiche Zusammenarbeiten mit verschiedensten Künstlern - in Form von einzelnen Nummern, aber auch ganzen, abendfüllenden Produktionen. 

Nun entschloss dich Daniel, einen grossen Teil all dieser Arbeit in sieben verschieden Shows einzuteilen und an sieben Abenden im Theater am Gleis in Winterthur zu präsentieren. Für ihn ist dieses Festival auch eine Form des Abschiednehmens, denn Daniel verreist 2017 für Längere Zeit in die USA, um sich künstlerisch weiter zu bilden. 

Tap dan's festival

Daniel Borak presents his own Theater-Festival: 7 nights, 7 different shows – and he’s dancing in each and everyone of them. 

You could call this festival a „Best Of“  his past six years as a freelance artist, though brandnew material will be presented as well.

Not only his working colleagues from Winterthur, but also guests from all over Switzerland, the USA, England and Germany will take part in the show. Together they will perform already existing collaborations and new pieces that have been choreographed specifically for this festival only. 

In addition to the different shows, Tap-Workshops with international dancers and teachers will be organized. These workshops will take place in the afternoon from Wednesday till Sunday in the Dance Studio Liba Borak.

This festival is going to be an unforgettable experience, which allows the audience to immerse in Daniel’s dance world – the „Tap Dan’s Art Borak“.

Why?

When Daniel was five years old, he discovered his passion for tap dance in his mother’s dance school. His enthusiasm and dedication to this art form has been rising continously ever since. 

He won his first gold medal at the world championships with only 11 years, he started choreographing his own pieces when he was 14 years old and he started teaching soon after as well. When he was 18 years old, he commited completely to dancing when he decided to leave school in order to enter the dance academy of Zurich. 

Since he succesfully graduated the „Dance and Theater School of Zurich“ in 2010, Daniel has been active as a professional tap dancer, dancer in general, pedagogue and choreographer and he has had many opportunities to participate in numerous shows, festivals and projects all over the world:

Rhythm World 2014/2015, Tap United 12/13/14/15, projects with STYLIZE, Flashdance, WINGS by Rigolo, „Das Zelt- Varieté“, Funny Feet, Rhythm Refix, 9 Point Inc., proper productions together with the Dance Studio Borak and many more.

Hence a lot of material has been created over the past six years, as well as several collaborations with different artists, including not only single pieces, but also entire feature-length productions.

Now Daniel decided to divide a big part of all his past work into 7 different shows and to present them on seven different nights in the „Theater am Gleis“ in Winterthur.
To him this festival is also a kind of good-bye, because Daniel will leave in 2017 for the USA to improve and educate himself artistically.
